Looks like a fun event; not to participate in but to watch.

Travis

Re: Hamel Rodeo

I'm there Val. Rodeos are close to my heart being that they go hand-in-hand with my horse showing. It's always a challenge to capture that perfect action shot when things are moving SO fast. I LOVE the little cowboy shot, and I love the fourth photo in, the BW image of the bull twisting around. It looks like it's going to fall! Amazing! So glad to see you shooting new things all the time!

Also, glad you got to wear your new cowboy clothing articles.

If I make it to another horse show this season, I'll let you know! I'd love for you to come out and photograph another horse show, if you're interested.

Re: Hamel Rodeo

Oh, I wanted to go back sooo badly Saturday evening. You had much better light I think, and that's what I suspected. I didn't get a press pass but was able to stage right up on the red arena fencing. The press people were WAY UP on the platform, shooting down which is a better position. Gets rid of a lot of the distracting stuff in the background. So, I just made a decision to go as low in dirt as I could get. My wrangler shirt and square toed cowboy boots loved it though!

Re: Hamel Rodeo

I was there on Saturday night. The lighting conditions were difficult because of the shadows and the gradual change from sunlight to artificial lighting. You can see my images at http://tinyurl.com/ktpugp

How did you get photos from ground level? Did you get a press pass?
